It can be so frustrating when you search really hard for a cache and fail to find it. Yet, by a complete fluke, there it is.....Read on.......
Well, you couldn't make it up could you?
This was my third visit to find this cache, having failed to find it on my previous visits. I asked the owner to check if was still there and sure enough, the owner confirmed it had gone and replaced it with a new cache.
This time I was accompanied by astra-nomical, who eagerly set about searching whilst I entertained baby James.
After about 10 minutes it became obvious that astra-nomical was not going to find the cache, so I clambered up the rock face to try to find it.
It wasn't in the places we suspected it to be. Then, without warning, I lost my footing and slithered face down the steep slope, coming to a halt near the bottom. I took a couple of seconds to check that I was still in one piece and luckily I was.
As I lay there, I noticed a hole in the rock, right in front of my face, peering inside, I could see THE CACHE.
Quickly retrieved, we opened it to sign the log and were amazed to find it contained the original log book signed up to date with the previous cacher's log.
How strange!
